I will keep this short and sweet, because you don’t particularly need to know every detail of my life… Or do you?
My name is Yves Bourgelas. I’ll often go as The Bourgyman on the Internet when it comes to artsy activities such as illustration and comic booking, but also as DJ Bourg when I’m doing music related stuff. As you can see I’m a multi-disciplinary artist, working in fields such as illustration, music, but also designs and computers in extension. My website, Bourgy.NET, is the result and accumulation of many years of hard work in my fields of interests, so if you’ve got a few spare minutes to waste, I invite you to go look around.
I’ve been drawing since as long as I can remember, and it’s always been clear to everybody I met in my life that my career would be centered around art. This was a natural path to follow for me, and it lead me to what I am today, doing comics and illustration related works. Not yet as a living, but hey, we’re getting there.
Besides my innate fondness for art, I had a few “revelations” that were meant to change my live forever. The most notables events are when I discovered my love for making comics at age 10, following by my sudden attraction to Electronic Dance music, which nobody ever saw coming (including me), at age 12.
Academically-wise, I am a 2007 Graduate of the Université du Québec en Outaouais in Gatineau, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Design, option Comic Arts. Prior to these studies, I followed a 2-year pre-university course in 2D Animation at Collège Mérici, in Quebec City.
